    Blencathra Info

The highest point is marked by a concrete ring. There is a good path connecting the five summits on the main ridge.

From here, on a clear day, you can expect excellent, extensive views, enhanced in every direction by the sharp fall of the slopes from the summit. Looking West you can see the bulk of Skiddaw and from west round to north-east the Back o’Skiddaw fells, behind which are the mountains of Galloway, the Border hills and the Cheviots.

The Pennines can be seen in the distance from north-east to south-east and to the south-east are the Far Eastern Fells. Directly South the Helvellyn range is seen straight on. The Isle of Man and the Mourne Mountains can also be seen on clear days.
