    Catbells Info

A moderate hike with a short, steep ascent and some minor scrambling. The walk traditionally starts at Hawes End Landing Stage and the most common route takes you anti-clockwise, but you can start in Keswick to extend the walk.

Once at the summit, climbers will be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding fells and Derwentwater.

There is a small car parking area near Hawse End and there is also limited space available on the roads nearby, though be aware of yellow lines and local residents’ space.

You could also head to Keswick Landings and catch a boat anti-clockwise around the lake, which takes 10 minutes to the starting point of the walk. There’s also a direct launch every morning that runs specifically for walkers.

There are some car parks in the town of Keswick if you opt for the longer route.
